I enjoyed this series until the last two mission kept breaking endlessly. I finally got mission 14 to cooperate after running it 3 times through but mission 15 is completely broken now on 2.5.2. I still recommend it though considering the first 13 missions are fantastic and not a single issue with them. You NEED to have a strong understanding on how to start the hog from the ramp and how to aerial refuel. (If you can't aerial refuel you can always bring extra gas but it makes flying a bit more difficult since you'll be overweight.)The wingmen you get are required in some missions where you have to destroy 40+ vehicles so make sure you can task them correctly. I do hate how sometimes when you send them to refuel they crash into the tanker and making it harder for yourself to land safely.. ***2 MISSIONS BROKEN OUT OF 15 - BUT I STILL THINK IT'S WORTH THE $10 (trust me)****I'm only putting this at the top in hopes DCS fixes this and so others can skip these missions and just read in the PDFs how they play out. Overall this was a VERY fun campaign to play. Besides the 2 missions that broke, which was very frustrating, the amount of work and voice acting put into this is VERY well done! Bravo for that! That said however, the 2 missions broken really was a bummer. Those missions are:Mission 06Mission 14 On mission 06, once you take out the incoming heavy vehicle column, the friendly helicopter's don't take off to trigger the next part of the mission. This is the original mission that breaks the entire campaign, as now you have to play the rest of the missions from the mission editor :( On Mission 14, oohhhhhhh this one♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥me off. The mission calls for you to fly 160 miles NW from base....yes....160 miles. However, I don't mind long flights, so I was really looking forward to it. It's about a 40 min. flight to target. On my way, I'm thinking God I hope this mission doesn't have a bug...and WHAT DO YOU KNOW?! A mission breaking bug! You're job is to hold at WP 3 and wait for 2 friendly trucks to enter an enemy compound. You're instructed to hold fire until you're given the green light. Once these trucks get into the compound, they stop momentarily and they're supposed to then drive out. However, the lead truck gets stuck on the road in the compound and you can see the AI's wheels 'twitching', trying to turn around/back up or whatever. But because the AI truck can't complete the assigned task/go to the next WP, you're stuck up in the air...45 mins wasted!!! General information about this campaign:Note: this campaign is NOT meant for beginners. You must know how to: -Start the A-10 from cold-start (14 of 15 mission require cold start, 1 mission starts you in the air)-Manipulate the CDU to input coordinates/mark targets (often times on the fly) -Effectively manage your AI wingmen-Understand and use CCIP/CCRP bombing with GBU-38s/12s, Mk-82s, and CBU-105s, and be effective with AGM-65s, along with managing effective gun/rocket runs. -Fly in various weather conditions such as night time operations and/or heavy rain, snow, and winds. -Be effective at air-to-air refueling (in some missions it's optional, however in 1 or 2 it's required) and lastly, it's strongly recommended to read the PDF documents to the read mission details prior to starting the mission - as there is a plethora of information that's contained within that's not necessarily in the DCS mission briefing. In addition, some coordinates are given in the PDF that you can go ahead and put into the CDU prior to take off vs. doing it in the air. Other than that, here's a few pros/cons regarding the overall campaign: PROS:-The story line is VERY fluid. I really enjoyed the progress from 1 mission to the next. The dev did an EXCELLENT job making these mission feel like a real campaign, progressing each mission. I'm going to miss Whiplash 1's voice lol :(- Professionally made missions that feel very realistic and believable - Missons are based on a specific AO (area of operations), which allows you to familiarize yourself with local terrain and positionings throughout missions- Nice breifings with VERY detailed PDF documents of AO, mission goal(s), flight plans, altitude instructions, loadout, and many other helpful misc. info - Excellent voice acting with a wide-variety of voice actors from many backgrounds (props to ALL voice actors, they are great!) - Missions run a nice, fluid, and challenging pace (Missions do not attempt to overwhelm you with targets, however targets are plentiful)- Missons can update/change mid-flight to simulate real-world developments on the battlefield.- Target aquistion and management is well-implemented with target locations given to you via verbal communication, smoke, coordinates, and/or waypoints. - A wide variety of ground and air units efficiently and believably coordinate with each other via their movements, positioning, and communication (again, making the mission feel very realistic)- I really enjoy the added details put in like having to call for SAM footprints before take off and landings to ensure safe transits.CONS (some spoiler alerts):-Obviously the 2 Mission game-breaking bugs listed above (Mission 06 and 14)- [TAKE THIS CON LIKE A GRAIN OF SALT] At times, it seems the campaign is better suited for multiplayer and not AI wingmen. For example, in mission 3 the target area contained a plethora of enemies. To be fair, you have 3 wingmen and there were Apachi AIs helping you take out the targets, however they were shot down after they killed roughly 8-10 targets. But, at times, the enemy density and/or your munitions limits what YOU can do and relies heavily on what your wingmen and/or other flights can do - which can put the entire mission at risk if they can't perform the required attack to trigger the next script. - In another example in mission 4, you encounter a few enemy AAA Shilkas and AAA trucks. You are only armed with guns, 2 GBU 38s, and rockets; while your 3rd wingman has AGMs. The first time I ran through this mission, my number 3 got shot down by AAA, leaving me with a near zero possibility of destroying these guys (as I used the only 2 bombs I had) and my other 2 wingmen refused to engage the AAA. I got shot down trying my best to take them out with my gun from a distance. However, on my next run through, 3 didn't get shot down and I was able to have him take them out and the mission went smoothly. **Regarding the above con, I can't really dock the devs to hard on this. On the one hand, you don't want a mission with too few of targets that a single A10 can take out. On the other, if your wingmen get shot down or damaged, you just might be screwed. That said, this only happened on 1 mission, so not really a big deal. -I encountered a NON-mission-breaking bug/erronous design on Mission 3. After destroying 2 buildings, they proceeded to continously explode and spew flares, I assume to simulate the destruction of munitions depots, which was awesome! However, they continued to do that nonstop for the rest of the mission. Overall: I still think this is worth the $10. Each mission is carefully planned with believable missions and AI. Furthermore, the phenomenal voice acting and the many variety of voices coming from different national origins were also very impressive and made the missions believable. Regarding the broken missions, my guess is that all 15 missions worked when they were created, however with DCS updates since then, perhaps that may have broken the 2 that's in here? This campaign crushes the default campaign in DCS and it's exactly what's missing in DCS - realistic battlefield scenarios. I cannot in good conscious thumb this down. This is EXACTLY what DCS needs, even if there were 2 quirky missions as the other 13 were REALLY fun! Why would I still recommend it? Because I don't think the devs on this campaign can really help it when DCS's AI/mechanics are altered on updates. In addtion, the other 13 were a blast! That said, I really hope the DCS devs keep track of these breaks in user-made campagins if they're going to sponsor and charge for these. I really look forward to and hope for more by Ranger79. Please keep these coming Ranger79!. Awesome campaign, in the development team must be some guys from the real business. The audiofiles are like super authentic and give a great feeling for the scenarios. Its just what I always missed in this game. You take part in Convoi Ops, HVT ISR, Kill or Capture missions - you never know whats going to happen next. You will recieve fast reactive talkon's and CAS Briefs - even bombs on coords without being tally, but becareful the transmissions will come via voice and fast!- In the pre mission briefings you recieve the intend of the one and two level ups, nice pictures of the AO, the route, the Targets with sometimes with coords of the Target Area of Intrest.- You recieve restrictions and deconfliction due to ARTY, HELOS or accidents- You will support TIER ONE operators with air actionYou have diffrent fractions like in a real military exercise. If you like flying the A10C and being in the permissive environment it is a MUST HAVE !. worth the price for sure, as long as you know the A-10. 10/10 it was like a movie very good voice acting and scenario i want a second campain from these guys asap plz.. 10/10 it was like a movie very good voice acting and scenario i want a second campain from these guys asap plz..
