Updated: Mar 21, 2020

About This Game Summary:This is a game with real benefits! You can learn facts about the solar system and science as you play! Planetary Settlers is a family friendly video game about exploring the solar system. Experience realistic gravity as you control Blue 42 on each planet, completing mini games, uncovering secrets, and completing quizzes to enhance your abilities as you explore and help humanity reach out into the solar system!Early Access:Planetary Settlers is playable, with many more features in development, and you have the opportunity to suggest additional features and provide other suggestions to guide the future of the game. I currently have the inner solar system, with a level each for Mercury, Venus, Earth, the Moon, and Mars.Planned updates:Add a level for each of the other planets, as well as Pluto, some of the more notable moons, and more! Add more minigames to each of the existing inner planet levels. Add a leveling system (e.g. more nanites gives more powerful abilities)Add text color customization optionDetails:Planetary Settlers is currently in development. Take control of an advanced AI robot named Blue 42, and explore the vast solar system, to include the different planets and many of the moons. Explore our possible future in the year 2142, with realistic environments based on imagery and data we have gathered on the various planets and moons. Gravity is accurate, when you jump, throw a rock, or fly, you will experience the actual gravity of the planet / moon.Blue 42 has the following features, which can be enhanced through collecting more nanites: Various technologies to shield against the harsh environments of space and various worlds, to include extreme heat, extreme cold, low pressure, high pressure, corrosive chemicals, radiation, and harmful dust. A color customizable light, with adjustable brightness An color customizable projectile generator, a "gravity probe" to see the effect of gravity on each world, and to have fun with. You can even make the projectiles glow a color of your choosing. More nanites allow you to increase velocity Treads, to move along the surface. Can be adjusted to go very fast if you collect enough nanites! Tread jumper - Jumps by launching the treads down quickly (sort of like how a grasshopper hops). Power can be boosted to allow you to leap over a building! Jetpack to fly! Grabber beam to hold and release large objects. Note: It is fun to throw things by grabbing them, running at high velocity, and releasing, or by grabbing, rotating quickly and releasing. This game is being developed first for Windows PCs / laptops, but I plan to expand into other languages and other platforms later. 7aa9394dea Title: Planetary SettlersGenre: Adventure, Indie, Early AccessDeveloper:Leveler GamesPublisher:Leveler GamesRelease Date: 18 Jun, 2017 Planetary Settlers Free Download planet fitness settlers ridge. planetary settlers. planet settlement game. planet fitness settlement The full price is a tad expensive IMO but it was worth it at 75% off.Graphics are amateurish, same for sounds, music is not great. You get to help name them! Today (June 30, 2018) is the last day of the name the aliens contest! Got a cool name? You can share it here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/857860/discussions/2/1696049513760103153/ To be clear for the little ones out there, this is part of the story for Planetary Settlers. As far as I know, we don't yet know of any real aliens (good, bad, or somewhere in between), but who knows what we will discover, space is big!. Achievements have arrived!: With the latest update, the first 5 achievements are now achievable! Anything no longer marked Coming Soon is now achievable. More achievements are on the way!. New Achievements and Missions: I have added new achievements and missions! Can you beat me at my own game on the new Venus Pyramid Parkour mission with your jet pack turned off? This will earn you the Lava Leaping achievement! Try beating me at a different parkour mission with your jet pack turned off for another achievement! I will leave that for you to find. Can you be among the first to get these new challenging achievements?I have implemented the beginnings of a crafting system, as shown above, where you can currently craft a table. This system is planned to play a crucial part in future plans for colony building! There is also an achievement tied to this as well, but I will leave that for you to discover!. First Anniversary!: Today is the first anniversary of Planetary Settlers, and it has been quite the journey so far, filled with some good moments, bad moments, and really funny moments. As a solo indie developer, I thought I would share the highlights of my experience. Here are the highlights over the last year of the good, the bad, and the funny! The Good: I had a lot of fun making the game so far, over the past 3 years. Planetary Settlers was accepted and released for Early Access 1 year ago! Received positive reviews so far It feels great to get my first big time game out there after so much work on it (I have made many smaller games from childhood, but this is my first truly meant for prime time). It feels great to put something out there that can really help people. It is a fun, family friendly game that has the added benefit of teaching about the solar system, based on the Standards of Learning objectives. I believe kids playing this will likely improve their science grades, and that adults will also get a lot of fun and enjoyment out of it. I look forward to adding the remaining levels, adding more features, and polishing it up for full release. I am very thankful for the support of friends, family, go fund me donors, and everyone who bought the game! The Bad: Finances... I had hopes and expectations that I would make a lot of money off this, but I haven't even broken even yet (though I am getting close, not counting development time). I have been hoping Planetary Settlers would supplement our income to help me and my wife get out of debt. We nearly went bankrupt earlier, but have managed to halt our downward spiral, so it isn't all bad. I have hopes that my continued work on this, and full release of Planetary Settlers when it is done will give us that boost we need to get out of debt. Bugs... Like nearly all software, Planetary Settlers hasn't been immune to bugs. The worst bugs so far were: once the initial dialogue for Mars got associated to the Sun level dialogue, and a save game from the Normal Mode slot would occasionally move over to the Free Exploration Mode slot. I implemented fixes for both of those though very quickly after discovery. I have also fixed many lesser bugs, and still have more lesser bugs to fix. That is part of the journey in software development. I haven't had enough reviews to have a review score for Planetary Settlers. Thankfully the reviews received have been positive so far! I haven't met the sales threshold to be able to release trading cards for Planetary Settlers. Enough of the bad, lets move to... the funny! The Funny:I have had a few funny experiences as well: Figured out you can grind up puzzle pieces on Pluto, which kind of hampers your progress. If encountered, you could fix it by restarting the level, but now you get an achievement for trying to do it (in addition to getting your piece back with some funny dialogue)! Puzzle Smoke, don't breathe this! This achievement is in honor of "Will it Blend" which is one of my favorite YouTube series! The Exploding Bed Blooper: I imported a bed (public domain) from TurboSquid. I successfully imported it into the game, and then... I tried to make it physical, with the thinking that it would be neat to be able to pull the pillows off. I also had it really large so I could see the finer details of he bed. Here are the results of that "adventure":Exploding Bed Blooper! Found out that throwing things, particularly furniture, in low G has some rather entertaining results, as shown here:Throwing chair off sky scraper! Yes, there is a subtle "Uranus" joke in the game somewhere, can anyone find it?The Future:For those that have read this far, here's a sneak peek of what I plan to add:- New levels (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and possibly more!)- New projectiles (paint balls, various sports balls)- New crafting objectives (e.g. craft repair parts, craft projectile factories)- Ability to repair the bases and make them habitable- More achievements- Improved look and feel- Optimized performance- Other languages- Possibly more!. Martian Makeover: Mars has a new, better, more true to life look! I re-textured it to look more realistic based on pictures sent back from the Mars Rovers. It looks from the rover pictures like Mars generally has at least 3 different types of "soil": sandy, dirt-like, and rocky, which I have added on the Mars level.I also added a "portal bubble" to the moon pyramid that indicates when the pyramid teleporter is active when performing the moon rock garden mission. Jump in to teleport to the large crater outside the moon dome!I added a collapsed area on the Venus volcano, as well as fixed up the flowing lava to look even more realistic!
